Monday, 6/25 D&R 7 Phoenix Welding 6

D&R won a squeaker over a strong PW squad. Once again the D&R Blue fought back from a 3-1 deficit and claimed their 4th win in their last 5 games. Tommy Lemay was the pitching star by entering the game with the bases loaded and only 1 out in the 6th inning. He got the next 2 batters out allowing D&R to cling to their slim 7-6 lead. He then pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning, needing to throw only 3 pitches for the inning. The offensive star was Terry Webber, who had a bases clearing triple in the 3rd inning. Zack Johnson also had an RBI single in the win. It was a great team win for the D&R Blue. D&R's record improved to 8-3 overall, 6-3 in-league.

Fri. 6/22 D&R 6 PW 4

D&R fell behind early, but fought back with 5 runs in the 6th inning and held on for a crucial 6-4 win. Zack Gardiner and Tommy Lemay had key hits in the 6th inning, but the biggest hit came from Jake Gardiner, who had a towering 3 RBI double. Josh Wood pitched 3 key innings in the win and Zack Gardiner shut the door with 3 strong innings, including 5 strikeouts. Todd Hood also had a nice hit in the 6th inning. D&R's overall record is 6-3 and its in-league record is 4 Wins, 3 Losses.

6/19 Sappi v PW 10-8 (Sappi) @ Warren.
A great game between two good teams. Phoenix Welding scored 6 runs in the 1st inning and then added two more in the 2nd, but was held scoreless the rest of the game. Sappi had a big inning in the 5th when 6 runs came across the plate (along with the 4 runs scored earlier) with hits from K. Bourassa, A. Beckwith, M. Veitz, and A. Benson.

6/15 PW v D&R 5-2 (PW) @ Warren
Phoenix Welding's Joey Royer pitched 6 strong innings only allowing 1 run. D&R was unable to generate any meaningful offense and made some key errors that contributed to 2 of PW's runs. Tommy Lemay pitched well in the loss, allowing only 5 hits.

May 28th ~ PW v Harmon's (3-6 Harmon's) @ Warren
A great start to the Babe Ruth baseball season last night at Warren . Two very evenly matched teams played to the wire and then some with H & B pulling out a 6 -3, 8-inning, come from behind victory over PW . Harmons & Bartons showed a little more than Flower Power with fantastic pitching that included Goan - Begos - Boothby - Egeland and Mowatt to close it out! H & B used some crafty base running from Trever Clouatre & Mike Mowatt and timely hitting from Dillon Nixon & Joe Quinlan to bring H & B to victory. PW had this one, until a 2 out walk opened the door. Mike Mowatt stole 2nd & 3rd, before cruising home with the winning run, on a throw that got by the 3rd baseman and sailed into left field .
