In the opening game of the 2009 Westbrook Babe Ruth Season, Phoenix Welding and Saco & Biddeford Savings did not disappoint. A close game throughout, Phoenix pulled off a walk-off victory in the bottom of the 7th inning to win 6-5. Chris Aube put eyes on a ball that went in between the first and second baseman to bring home the winning runs.
Aube and Kyle Heath each had two hits for Phoenix. Adam Begos picked up the win in relief.
